Coming to RHP, I was nervous about the kids here. Let's be honest. I was thinking about the possible stereotype of wealthy private students, but the people I became close to were far from thatt. Gabby and James are some of my closest friends. I am very grateful to have met them, they’re exactly the kind of people I want in my life for the rest of my life.
A friendship of three is perfect; there's an equal balance. I always enjoyed it when it was just the three of us at the table. Our personalities are different, but they complement each other well. For example, James would talk about Percy Jackson, while Gabby and I would give each other the hardest side-eye. The same energy is returned from James when Gabby and I go on about cats and cute animals we see on Instagram. Of course, we all make fun of each other a lot, but what real friends don't? A favorite memory with them was sitting in the water, talking, on the Colorado River. Nothing crazy happened, and there wasn't some big drama to talk about; it was just enjoying the moment with them. Small moments like that are what I always loved with them because I didn't know when it would be our last together.
Coming to this school and meeting them wouldn’t have been possible without my mom. My mom wanted better opportunities for me, this school was one of the many steps to achieve that. She wanted to give me all of what she wanted for herself when she was younger, to me. I’ll always appreciate her for putting her best effort forward in our relationship, most kids can’t say that they’re best friends with their mother, but I can. Yes, she gets on my nerves as I am my dad’s child, but the other side of me from her loves her a great deal. I would say I’ll miss you when I’m going to college but you’ll be an hour away anyways, so when I do I’ll just drive up to sit in the pool once in a while. Even if you’re an hour away, I’ll send you videos that aren’t funny but I know will make you laugh. Jokes aside, Something I will miss the most is riding in the car with you talking, arguing, and laughing about the dumbest things. When I walk across the stage at college it won’t just be me, it’ll be you too.
Shoutouts:
Gabby: You'll always be my best friend, and I'll miss you a lot when you go to NYC. I know i’ll probably see you in some sort of New York Fashion tik tok one day, head to toe in balenciaga with fat boots.
James: I can't wait to read the future mythological book you will write and hear about your Harry Potter classes at Drew. You better fly out to see me and Gabby, no excuses that your toilet blew up.
Coach Mo: You are such a kind-hearted person, and I see your passion when you're coaching the team. I wish you the best of luck with the future generation of the girl's basketball team.
Mr.Thomas: I am so glad you became our advisory teacher; it couldn't have been a better fit. Also, I liked getting to know you more during Outdoor Ed. I’m more than happy that your sandwich fell into the water when canoeing, It looked nasty anyways.
Mom: Thank you for always being my number one supporter. We have been through so much together that’s only brought us closer. Without you, I wouldn’t have been able to be in the position I’m in now. Because of your hard work and sacrifices for me, I’ll never doubt that you won’t come to my rescue when I need it. I can’t wait till you see me graduate from college. It won’t just be a big day for me, but also a huge day for you. I love you most.
