Mateo Trujillo leads Rolling Hills Prep to Division 1 playoff win

Rolling Hills Prep celebrated an impressive Division 1 playoff opening win Wednesday night as our Huskies defeated Marmonte League champion Oaks Christian 76-62 at North Torrance.
Senior guard Mateo Trujillo delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 25 points to lead our team to victory. Trujillo, who has been studying Coach Harvey Kitani’s playbook since eighth grade, demonstrated remarkable command of our offensive strategy throughout the game.
“I was reading it religiously,” Trujillo shared about his early dedication to mastering Coach Kitani’s system.
The win advances our Huskies (21-6) to the second round of the Southern Section Division 1 playoffs, where we’ll face Corona del Mar this Friday.
Coach Kitani, in his 44th year of coaching high school basketball, continues to bring his characteristic energy and strategic excellence to our program, actively calling plays and guiding our student-athletes to success.
Join us in congratulating Mateo and the entire Rolling Hills Prep basketball team on this significant playoff victory as they continue their championship journey!
