Rolling Hills Prep’s Samuel Lopez Honored as 2026 CIF-SS Division 9 Baseball Player of the Year

Rolling Hills Prep proudly celebrates rising senior Samuel Lopez, who was recognized as the 2026 CIF Southern Section Division 9 Baseball Player of the Year during a special on-field ceremony at Angel Stadium on August 10.

Before the Los Angeles Angels took on the Texas Rangers, Samuel was honored alongside other CIF Southern Section Players of the Year in front of fans at Angel Stadium. During the ceremony, he received a custom Rawlings commemorative bat in recognition of his outstanding achievements and exceptional 2026 season.

This prestigious honor is one of the highest individual recognitions a high school baseball player can receive in Southern California and reflects Samuel’s talent, dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence both on and off the field.

Throughout his career at Rolling Hills Prep, Samuel has exemplified the qualities that define a Husky student-athlete. His relentless work ethic, sportsmanship, and leadership have made a lasting impact on the baseball program and inspired teammates, coaches, and the entire school community.

Assistant Baseball Coach Lance Hollandsworth reflected on Samuel’s impact both on and off the field:

“The best players don’t simply win games—they leave a lasting mark on the people around them. Sam did both. Through his dedication, resilience, and selfless leadership, he reminded us that baseball is about more than victories; it’s about building character, inspiring teammates, and creating memories that last a lifetime. Sam helped lead Rolling Hills Prep Baseball to its most successful season in school history.”
